Anna Cool-MacRae

Greetings Woolley Families,

My name is Anna Cool-MacRae, and I am excited to continue supporting the Woolley family as your Principal! I am honored to serve you, and I look forward to partnering with the staff and the school community to help all students grow and learn.

I am originally from Idaho and moved to Las Vegas to begin my teaching career in 1999. This is my 26th year with the Clark County School District. I have taught Kindergarten, 3rd grade, worked as a Teacher-Librarian and as a coach for new teachers. I earned a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from UNLV, a Master's degree in Library Science and Technology from NOVA Southeastern University, and a Master's degree in School Administration from the University of Phoenix. During my free time, I enjoy traveling, reading, watching the Vegas Golden Knights and spending time with friends and family. I love the outdoors and enjoy camping, hiking, kayaking, rafting or pretty much anything else on the water or in the mountains!

I feel fortunate to be working with such positive, supportive and passionate staff. I will work hard along with the students, families and staff to ensure all of our students are safe, happy and successful at school.

Sincerely,

Anna Cool-MacRae

Principal

Woolley Families,

My name is Debra Roberson, and I am serving as one of your assistant principals. It has been my honor to serve in public education as a classroom teacher, a reading specialist, an instructional supervisor, a central office administrator, a superintendent, a principal, and an educational consultant for the U.S. Department of Education. I was born and raised in a rural community in central Virginia, received my bachelor's degree in Education from Longwood College in Farmville, VA, and my master's degree in Supervision/Administration from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA. My husband and I moved to Las Vegas in 2001, and we both immediately went to work for the Clark County School District, serving in multiple capacities over the years. When I retired from the District's central office as Director of School Improvement, I continued to assist administrators at individual school sites as needed. It has been my honor and joy to work with the families and staff of Gwendolyn Woolley Elementary School. Some of the students here refer to me as their "Grandma," a term I dearly love and cherish. Please know that I am devoted to serving this school and will do all I can to ensure that each student reaches his/her fullest potential in life.

Respectfully,

Deb Roberson

Woolley Families,

My name is Kang Linares, and I am honored to serve as the Assistant Principal of Gwendolyn Woolley Elementary School. It is a privilege to be part of such a vibrant and dedicated school community, and I am excited to support our students, staff, and families in collaboration with a strong team of educators and leaders.

On a personal note, I’ve been married to my husband, Jose, for 18 wonderful years. We have two children, Emma and Dario, who will both be attending high school this year, along with three beloved fur babies who keep our home full of energy and love.

With over 21 years of experience in education, I’ve had the privilege of working with students from preschool through fifth grade in a variety of roles, including preschool, kindergarten, first grade, and third grade teacher and learning strategist. These experiences have shaped my belief in the power of collaboration, maintaining high expectations, and fostering a student-centered approach to learning.

I am truly excited to bring my passion for education and leadership to Gwendolyn Woolley Elementary School and look forward to working together to help every student thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Sincerely,

Woolley Families,

My name is Robin Matticx, and I am proud to serve as one of the Assistant Principals at Gwendolyn Woolley Elementary School. This is my 12th year with the Clark County School District. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of teaching both fourth and fifth grade, as well as serving as a learning strategist. My commitment to student achievement and building a strong school community is at the heart of everything I do. I am honored to support the students, staff, and families of Woolley Elementary and believe in the power of creating meaningful connections in a welcoming, inclusive environment where every child feels seen, supported, and empowered to thrive.

My passion for education is deeply rooted in relationship-building, especially with students. I believe strong, trusting relationships are the foundation of effective learning. Whether it’s greeting students each morning, collaborating with staff on innovative strategies, or partnering with families to support student development, I find joy and purpose in being an active, supportive presence throughout our school. These daily interactions reflect the spirit of the Woolley community—connected, committed, and student-centered.

Originally from Chicago, Illinois, I relocated to Las Vegas in 2014. Outside of work, I enjoy a fulfilling personal life as a mother and grandmother. In my free time, I love watching sporting events, crafting, cooking, and spending quality time with family and friends. I feel truly blessed to be part of such a positive and passionate school community, surrounded by educators who are deeply committed to the success of every student.
